Anyone use a Thule or Yakima Roof Rack?
I need to get a roof rack to carry a canoe. I've used Thule in the past on other vehicles. Has anyone used the Thule or Yakima Roof Rack on a 2003 Ram Quad Cab? Any comments or suggestions? If you have a preference, please specify why. Thanks.
i have actually been considering one too. So I am all ears on this one as well. I figure i barely fit in garages now so once the 35's and kore go on ill be too high anyways. Oh and must be strurdy say 200lbs?
Both brands are good, doesn't matter really. If weight is a concern I'd probably go with the Thule, they use thicker steel on their bars. Both brands are well made, have good security and have good warranties.
One thing to note: the round yakima bars will howl in the wind when nothing is one them to break the air flow. In a car this is very noticable, not sure about our trucks though.
You also need to figure out how you are going to install. More options is you have a canopy on the back.
