Anyone with Twins Htt62-65-13ss/S400 on here?

Just wondering if anyone on here has this setup with a set of twins. I can't deciede between a 62/65/13ss or the stocker for the secondary. I was gonna send my 62/71/13ss back to HTT to be changed and polished.

I bought the 62/65/13ss for the twins. I figured it would be better then the stocker. I am now leaning toward the stocker in the twin setup for the quick spool and still beable to make 650+hp.

What kind of boost do you make at 60 MPH empty with that 62/65/13ss?

Mine is a 62-65-14 and not an SS yet, but I have mine wastegated at 38 and with the injectors it boost 41 easy and very quickly, really no lag(no studsyet). But I do have a manual so it is easy for me to drive around lag. I was thinking about the same twin setup you are but am leaning toward running the S480

I am planning on sticking a s400 under my 62/71 down the road. With the right mods I don't think spoolup will be bad at all.

Stocker or 62/65/ 13ss or 14ss

The problem in using the stocker is that the drive pressure has got to be way too high. Does it work,.. sure,... until the headgasket goes. Also EGTs have got to be a lot higher with the stocker in the setup you are talking about.

I had been running the 64/71/13ss and the S480. I could have thrown my EGT gauge away. Not even close to a problem on heat or drive pressure.

My drive pressure is an almost 1:1 ratio, but the EGT's with flux 3.5's are high. With my old DDP 110's the temps were fine.

As a single I am getting by towing with an auto. If the TC lockup is to quick it will spike the EGT. I have only done it once. I have to back off the throttle and let my truck shift to 4th, then get back in it. The TC will then lockup at 55 MPH which is perfect. With a manual, you won't have any issues. In a twins setup for me, it's not gonna work. I am leaning toward the stocker and selling the 62/71/13ss. I just don't know for sure yet what I want to do. I really don't want to put the stocker back on and I only want to do this once.

Why don't you keep the 62/71/13SS and stick the S400 variant underneath it? That dual-gate housing will keep drive pressure in check even with an 80mm primary compressor and you won't lose much spool-up compared to the 65mm HTT turbine.

Besides, if you can have the truck down long enough to massage the exhaust tract from port to downpipe and get it all ceramic coated, you'd likely make up the lag anyway.

The "right" parts alone won't make or break the combo... setup & tuning have a lot to do with it. Unless it's a sponsored drag truck, I'd rather try to go fast with towing twins than try to tow with race twins...

Just keep in mind putting the 62-71-13ss in a twin setup will increase its primary spoolup compared to it being a single, and the big boy behind is gonna be spooled up by then to take over too. Maybe as a single its not perfect for an auto, but it will be different with some extra motivation. It will save you some money, and if you don't like it you can at least send it in for a 65wheel.

I hope what you mean when you say increase is the time it takes to spool. In a twins set up, the small turbo is going to spool a little slower than that same turbo run as a single.

It just depends on your goals. If you would like to see 700hp+ I would say go with the 62. If you will be happy long term with 600-650hp you would love the spool and towing performance of the stocker. My egts do not run high at all, and the drive pressure is not a problem either. Call and talk to Nathan about what you are considering and get some advise from him based on your intended use.

I have the 62/65/13ss and I did not notice much difference in spool compared to the stocker, with the righ tune. My plan was the same to go twins with this turbo, I can see that changing from the 71 is a good idea if your not going for monster power.

I'm going down a different road right now, twins being delay thanks to melted #5&6 cylinder. My turbo should land a HTT today to get converted to 64/65/13ss and looked over.
