If someone calls me a liar about the fuel mileage i have posted, I invite them to a MSDTR Chapter meeting and we can do a milage test if you want!!!! I personally crack 850mi. per tank fairly often. And once, came real close to 900mi. an a stock tank. 23-24mpg at 65-70mph constant freeway is easy for me. Even better, towing my Jeep Cherokee i regularly get 15-18mpg.
See this link describing my max fuel economy testing procedures all testing was done unloaded of course: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...=800+mile+club

I don't know if anyone is calling you a liar. I'm certainly not.
Your mileage of 15-18 while towing seems consistant with mine too. At least while towing lightly
A couple of points about the mileage thing: So many guys just don't care or drive in ways that waste fuel, so it's good to start the discusion and look for things that cause lower readings. And the discussion is only good for thosed that care. Many people think, for instance, that bigger tires and higher gears automatically mean better mileage. Or they reset the computer while driving on level ground and report the findings over a short distance. The only thing that really matters is the practical average or the miles per tank. Some kind of standard is needed, like I mentioned in my earlier post, that compares equally. It's great that you are trying to get the numbers as high as possible, but let's establish a way to compare various trucks and see what the differences are and what we can all do to improve our average. You've given us a practical upper limit with a, more or less, stock truck.
It seems like there are two categories when looking at mileage: driving habits and vehicle modifications. These two areas can be explored to keep chipping away at the myths and to keep raising the numbers.
It sounded like you were not sure how many gallons the tanks hold. I have put 39 gallons in mine and someone on here reported putting in 40. So it doesn't seem unreasonable at all to get 900 miles on a tank.

That's true, John - I pumped 40 gallons into the '05 stock tank last winter just this side of Memphis... got the receipt to prove it! Only took an extra 5 minutes to max it out like that. Averaged over 19mpg that trip - loaded over GVWR.
I just think it's simply amazing that I get the #'s I do with the mods I have. ANd by no means close to stock. I plan to do some more testing in the near future now that I have the Diablo Predator. I'm certain my milage is up slightly from when I used the BDPP. Right now, I keep the Extreme program loaded (dyno proven 470+hp setting) at all times and conditions (leave the Edge on 0 unless it's time to play) and still have yet to see any decrease in fuel economy during normal driving.
