ok i was wondering if anyone made their own tow hooks? i was thinking about using a half inch plate and welding a piece of 2 inch square stock to the plate gusseting it and then drilling holes for the shackles to go through the square stock that is sticking out through the bumper. anyone tried this and what else would i need?

 

Yes, on my 2004.5, I came up with a way of making a simple receiver for the front by mounting to the plates which accept the front tow hooks.

Pretty simple, only challenge was finding a piece of square tubing that is the size to accept a standard class three receiver.

 

did you reinforce the frame at all?
