I saw a picture somewhere on here where someone removed the center section of the factory intake tube and replaced with a 'straight through' section which was made of 5" painted PVC pipe.

I just ordered an Amsoil EAA189 Nano drop in and wanted to really free up the stock box so my engine can get good air.

From what I've read, the middle section of the intake tube has some sort of a baffle built in to quiet the intake noise and there are fins or some sort of an air deflecting device at the far end of the tube that attaches to the turbo. It would seem to me that the center section baffling would be pretty restrictive? What about the fins/deflectors down at the end?.....Are they restrictive? TIA.

Im doing that whistler intake on mine as soon as I get some extra $$.. That is just too cool, and it looks great.
