I am pretty sure the clutch can last a long time (100K+) with stock power. When you plus up the power and not the clutch you are asking to "do it again". I hear that calling south bend for advise is a good idea. I haven't called them but I have read on this board that they are very friendly and can explain the best clutch for any applicable operation.

Safely you can run the stock clutch up to 300-325 rwhp. Anything after that the clutch may hold but the life of the clutch will be cut down drastically. Driving style then becomes important.

TST quotes anything over 800 ft lbs. will slip the stock clutch.

I have the quad race box and my clutch slips on all three settings, including the 60hp in 5th and 6th gears when you have your foot into the peddle. I think the stock clutch will not hold virtually any power upgrades. I'm just waiting to get the money to upgrade. Maybe the 05's with the G56 will hold more, not the N5600 04.5's.

Old Smokey, not sure if you have changed your gears for the 315's, but as you probably already know that will have a direct affect on clutch slip...

It's flywheel. People often misquote torque as rear wheel on a chassis dyno. The fact of the matter is that if you want to look at torque at the rear wheel, it would be a tractive force measurement. Torque is a calculated number on a inertia chassis dyno using time, distance and weight and measured number on a load (water, electric, hydraulic) chassis dyno using a load cell. Either way, it will always be flywheel because the RPM that is measured for the equation is taken from the engine. If it is an inertia chassis dyno the equation will be HP(which is measured) X the RPM / 5252 = TQ. If it is on a load (water, electric, hydraulic) chassis dyno then the formula is TQ (which is measured) X 5252 / RPM = HP

HTH.

BTW, with the mods in my sig., I haven't been able to get my clutch to slip one bit. (knocking on wood)

What really bothers me is I've been in 6th and wanting jump out into traffic and get up to speed real quick and even on the 60hp setting I've have to be careful or the rpm's just take off when I hit 2000. I was very dissappointed when this happened. So far when I'm towing I'm ok as look as I keep it below 2000 rpms. I guess I'll just wait to the cash comes in. I'm still really happy with my mpg's though. Last tank was 22.4 and I've had a high as 24.4 on a complete highway trip.
