Anybody consider a cutout?

I have cutouts on my mustang. I want to be able to be straight-piped when I want it, but take long trips on the highway which I like quiet. Anybody consider this yet? The cutout would obviously go before the muffler. My ideal setup would be no cat, cutout and straight through muffler. They make electronic cutouts if you guys didn't know. They can be opened from the cab.

Im just trying to build an info foundation before I order the truck in July.

I was considering it for my '01. Then I found something similar, that is a gated 'Y'. That way, you never have to leave the truck to change it. One problem though, the Y only goes up to 2 1/4". I am gonna do some more research on it.

Good idea, but with cut outs before the muffler your going to be blinded by, and chokeing on exhaust at every stop light unless you ran a whole second set of pipes out to the rear of the truck.

I doubt that. A stock truck doesn't smoke at all. I've run mine with straight down pipe before and I never once smelled the exhaust.

My father-in-law has a dually with a blown 454. he has a dual exhaust set up with the muffled exhaust on the right side and the straight pipe on the left. The advantage of running a full length straight pipe is if you want to decrease EGT while pulling you will be able to live with the sound. An open pipe under the cab would be LOUD!!! I suppose you could have the straight pipe tie back into the stock pipe after teh muffler if you wanted to stay wiht one exhaust tip.

This spring we will possibly be offering a 4" Y pipe with electric exhaust cutouts that can be opened and closed from a toggle switch inside the cab.
We sell electric cutouts now up to 3.5" and I got the company to work on 4" for us.
They contacted me last week to let me know they were close to production.
