i drilled and tapped mine and then just fired up the truck. Didn't clean anything out. Put 10,000km on the turbo then it came off and there was no damage to the exhaust wheel at all

I disagree with drilling in steps to come up to the proper size. Doing this will introduce alot more chips into the manifold. Start by drilling a pilot hole but DO NOT drill through all the way. Then drill the correct size hole ONE time and use a NEW, SHARP bit. After all, we're not drilling huge holes.. Use compressed air to keep blowing chips out while you drill slow. 95% of chips will be blown out and the only time chips will fall inside is when you penetrate the last layer of metal which will not be much..

Now it's time to tap... GREASE the tap flutes nicely and run the tap in a little at a time and then remove, clean tap, grease, tap a little deeper, remove, clean, grease, tap a little deeper, etc.. You will want to test fit the pyro fitting when you think you might be deep enough. You might not have to run the tap in all the way for proper fitting install.

When you think your done tapping, you can fish around with a magnet before you button it up..

That's how I did mine and I had like nothing inside
