another turbo tread.. sry guys

i don't have the cash for a new turbo, so i've been looking in the classifieds, ebay, everywhere, and have been seeing alot of sps62's. would these turbo spool quick enough to pull with, i kind of pull alot. i will have a smarty in a few days , and a built trany down the road. so what does everyone think or are there better one to look for ? is the sps62 going to have alot of lag? will the smoke be mangable in the city? my gf just loves black smoke i can just see now were all my fuel will be going to(into the sky to make dense black clouds)
thanks to everyone

It will be laggy, but not terrible like a 66wheel. You may find stacking that X2 with a Smarty will wake it up though.

Love my SPS62....little laggy but comes alive in the mid-range....I would recommend getting a loose converter when you do get one. I have a super tight one that kills the spool from the line. It takes longer to go from 0-10psi then it does to go from 10-47psi!!! When it hits....HOLD ON!!!!

Many people are using turbos of that size. I trusted somebody elses opion when I bought my turbo, ie ps66. I would try to find somebody with a similaer setup that will take you for a ride. Many people say the ps 66 is not bad, but I hate mine in town. It is like driving with nitrous, it doesn't light form down low but when it does hang on. Not friendly for intown traffic and bad weather. I am looking to go to twins for a smoother powerband. I went with a single to save money now I am changing the setup, I did not do myself any favors, if I had done twins first it would have taken me longer to save the money but I would be money ahead now. Good Luck

Mine has taken some time to get used to the lag around town. It is not too bad for me but for others it might be too much...again it depends on how "TIGHT" your converter is. Mine is roughly a 97% which is super tight but great for towing and power handling, but not so great for a 71 wheel.

If you are concerned about lag, and not looking to make more than 500-525 on a single then you should probably look at either the PS62 or the HTT 62, both have 65mm wheels and spool great, you will sacrafice some power on top but down low and in town they will be awesome.

Nice thing about going with a 65 wheel you can easily upgrade to a twins with no problem if you think you will go for more than 500hp. A s400 or HTB3 will go great with either turbo for twins!!!
