There's plenty of guys who've posted running 40+ psi with no issues on the new turbos.

Yeah, but does anyone have any idea why mine gets "stuck" on 25 or so from a dead stop.

Fuel? Wastegate malfunction? Any Ideas??

Map sensor messing up somewhere would be my guess. check for codes or call Quad.

I have been mulling this over and over.

Tell me if I am wrong. In the "Stock" setting you can get the boost to go on up with no problems. As you add power to it, then you start having issues? Now if the converter is locked and you roll into it then you can make all the boost you want?

I am wondering if somehow your tranny is slipping and not putting the vehicle under the load it normally would and this causes you not to fuel like you should?

Just a thought.

I was actually thinking the same thing, which is not what I wanted. On the stock level the truck still won't boost past 30-32 or so no matter what the conditions. Which plenty of people say they hit 40 or more on stock levels. So I don't know if it is fuel or what it is. I am going to buy the Fuel Pressure kit to go with my commander as soon as I can afford it and hopefully that will eliminate or diagnose something

With regard to the boost. Correct me if I am wrong but once the motor is turing at a certain rpm the turbo is capable of making max boost. This boost is just bled off through the wastegate when not needed correct. If I am fueling enough to turn the motor at that rpm I am "capable" of reaching max boost. Once boost starts building, the map sensor reads this and commands more fuel to compensate for the additional air. If the max boost is not being reached when I go straight to full throttle it seems like it is a wastegate problem not a fueling problem. If I have the capability to support the fuel needs of 44psi when I roll on the throttle, I should be able to support it at all levels of throttle correct? This is just an idea and I know there is more to the system but am i correct in my thinking?

it doesn't sounds like a waste gate problem to me. a wastegate uses the pressure at the pump end of the turbo to open the waste gate which means it shouldn't be opening at 25 psi when you are able to reach 40 psi at highway speeds it sounds to me like a clutch/tranny problem your not able to get the required load on the motor to have it build the boost. correct me if i'm wrong but the tranny has a slip protection that could be causing it to defuel. in know some of the programers come with this slip protection

You did say that it boosts fine when the converter is locked. Sounds like a tranny issue to me. What does the fluid look like? Didn't you say somewhere that the boost is better in tow/haul mode? Can you force converter lockup on an '06? You used to be able to with older models. I can't remember the trick to fool the wastegate to get max psi. I have a buddy that did it. I will check with him and let you know.

The key thing works on '06 models. You have to do it REALLY fast!

i agree with one4speed you need to check the transmission fluid color if it is a burnt color then there might be some slippage going on there. what kinda trans temps are you running and where do you have the probe installed?

Trans temps are low and never have gotten high, probe is in test port where Quad reccomends.

I really don't think it is a tranny issue. I do know that I just spent $500 on a fuel system that didn't help though

Just wondering where you live at? Sounds like to me you could have tranny issues. I also have an easier time seeing higher boost when the TC is locked up in third or OD. To be honest I have only rolled on mine not ready to buy a tranny yet. Dont know how much elevation has to do with it.
