About all I can tell you is the Firestone airbag (the bag itself, not the whole kit) has a good reputation and comes recommended. Airlift made a better kit than Ride Rite for the Nissan Titan. The Ride Rite had fitment issues. Even though, if I were going to slap on a set I'd go with the Ride Rite (Firestone).

I destroyed the upper & lower mounts on my AirLift kit in only a few months on my truck, towing & trucking 3 yd. loads of gravel. I would not recommend the AirLift kit, because I feel their hardware/mounts are very light duty. To their credit, the bags still hold air, even after running them with bent mounts for over a year.

yep, where I live 3 yards of gravel is 12,000lbs and your 5000lb air bags didn't hold up in your 1 ton truck, garbage. ks

AFAIK the Air Lift kit still uses the Firestone air bags. Either way, the air bags completely trashed my unloaded ride quality.

Did you lower the airbags' pressure when you were unloaded?

Yeah, I have them all the way down to 2psi now and it's still harsh.

I wonder how that can be?

At 2 psi, the airbags are only taking 100lbs of weight off of the spring pack.

I have the Firestone Ride Rite air bags on an 89 Ford F-250 Supercab and my 03 Ram 2500 QC. Both are long bed and 4X4. I can't say I have any ride issues and have been completely pleased with both setups. The Dodge has the Dal Commander air console in the cab with a compressor in the engine compartment which is great for airing up and down the bags.

Yeah, they recommend no lower than 5 psi and w/ an unloaded truck, 5 psi rides ROUGH. I have the air lift kit and have had the mounting bolts back out and get lost even w/ loctite RED on them. The actual mounts have gotten bent, but they still perform as expected. Hopefully when I switch to bilstein shocks the ride will get better, does anyone know if it will????

I have ride rites, and use them a lot. The unloaded ride is a little rougher even with two to three lbs of pressure. The compressor is mounted under the right rear passenger seat. Summit racing usually has the best price and sometimes will let you substitute a better compressor than the small one that comes with the kit.

I had the airlift on my 1500 and loved it. At 5psi, it still rode like it was stock. I just ordered the mounts to put this kit on my 06, so we will see how it feels on there. I loved my airlift, especially when pulling a trailer because I can fix the nose up situation! Just on a side note, running with less than 5psi in your bags voids the lifetime warranty on them.
