Question Air Dog Fuel system

Is anyone using or considered the Air Dog fuel system as a replacement for the stock lift pump on the 3rd Gen trucks? They aren't widely advertised and their website is a little ancient but their product seems like a good one. http://www.pureflowtechnologies.com/

A friend of mine has one and he has no complaints about it at all. In fact it actually made the engine quieter, which until I heard it I didn't believe myself. As far as fuel delivery I think it is just as good as FASS but I'm curious if there are any negatives or praises from the DTR members.

Btw, I installed my Smarty and WOW did it bring my truck to life!!!

Farmer Davis, I'd like to help you but it looks as though you are a Farmall/International man, so I'm sorry but there isn't any help available for you....j/k

Anyhow, I believe he purchased this at a Diesel performance shop in Cleveland, OH. He looked at the FASS system but after reading the article in Diesel Power Mag he decided to go with this. I think the article is actually on their web page. Make a long story short, this guy put a ton of money into a Dodge and tried several fuel pumps, most failed and finally purchased an Air Dog and problem sovled!! I'll talk to my friend to get more details about where exactly he purchased it.

IMO the Airdog is the best after market pump on the market. It is physically smaller than the FASS. The FP80 (old number) now the PF100 will support a stage 2 CP3. I know of a pickup running one of these with an stage 2 CP3. It idles at 18PSI and you can not pull it off of 18psi. I had one on my 01 and it worked flawlessly. Something else to concider is the FASS filter cost what, 80 bucks. The airdog filter is 10. I wouldn't put anything else on my pickup.

I've run the Airdog pump for 30,000 miles so far. It was the first upgrade I made to the truck. I like the fact that it has a 2 micron filter also. pics in my gallery

Smile

I spoke with my friend who is running the AirDog setup on his truck and he just called their 1-800# to order it. He has been very happy with the setup and from what I understand the kit includes everything needed to install.

I appreciate everyones input, it looks like the AirDog will be my next purchase. I'm really surprised for what seems to be a quality product their name just isn't out there on the market much.

Farmer Davis, let me know if you order one of these, as it looks like you are more likely to buy a lift pump now.

I called pureflow on my break and talked to their tech guy. He knew his product well and made installation seem pretty simple. The AirDog PF100 pumps about 95 g/hr. The kit directly from them was $629, but they have a dealer (dieselperformanceproducts.com) selling it for $599. Seems like an excellent product, but I'm still going to do some more research on other ones(GDP). I am still leaning towards just a lift pump for now.
