after market door speakers?

Its gona be a couple/few weeks before I have the time to install everything but I want to add some components to my truck. Right now all i have is a Kenwook head unit (I can get the part number if needed) a JL 500/1 and 2 300 rms (each) 8s in a ported box.

I MIGHT ugrade to 2 500 rms (each) 10s in a ported box with a JL 1000/1 but that is probably irrelavant.

I am a big fan of JL and I plan on runin JL components up front and coaxials (sp?) in the back.

My question is what speakers would you recomend front and rear? Also what size?

Also what amp to push them, my choices right now are 300/2, 300/4, or 450/4. The 450 is 150 rms for 2 channels and 75 rms on the other 2. I guess just to bring your sound stage more to the front of the truck.

So any input is appreciated and I am not against other companies such as memphis or rockford, but I am gona run JL amps, but the speakers I am not so sure about yet. I would like JL but I know there are others out there just as good.

Thanks

I bought 2 sets of the Infinity Perfect 6.5" component speakers. Each of the doors (front and rear) got a 6.5". I put the tweeters in the factory locations up front, and facing forward on the rear pillars in the rear. Staging and sound quality is great! The crossovers are under the rear seat.

I've heard great things about Focal's as well. They may be worth checking into.

What about the pioneers??? I talked with a local speaker shop that I have used before and so far have been very good to me, and they said they like the high end pioneers for our trucks. I think they said they put 6x9s in the front and an extra set of tweeters in the dash and then just run some 2 way pioneers in the back and push em with JL 300/4.

The price seems right, what do you guys think?

I have Pioneer 4-way 6x9's in front and Rockford 5 1/4 component sets in rear. Sony 250x4 pushing them and a Rockford 500x2 running 2 10in. Rockford P2's under the seat in back. Very loud but balanced well.

CDT audio Eurosport Braxial 6.5's in the front and CDT Audio HD Braxial 5.25's in the rear. Very nice audiophile sound powered by Audison.

JL makes a component set I have been looking at that has tweeters, 3.5s for the dash, and 6.5s for the doors with crossovers. It is a pretty cool setup I would love the have.

Right now I run Rockford Fosgate components, and like them but plan on going with JL later.

I'd personally go with the "Hot Box" center cushion sub box. I replaces the lower center cushion up front with an enclosure. It will fit a 12" or 10" sub. I'd personally go with a JL audio 10w6. The owner builder also recommend that speaker for the box because it wont fit a 12w6.

I had the official JL Audio center console stealth box for my 99 CTD. It held a JL 12W3 and I powered it with a budget JL Audio e250. It sounded great. The bass hit dam hard and I still was able to keep my under rear seat storage a big plus. Everyone I talk to that had it loved it and its the way to have sweet bass in a dodge. They retail for $500+ but I searched craigslist and ebay for 6 months and one came up for $200 100 miles away. I always wish it had a w6 and now its possible and affordable for 3rd gens. They go for $135 on ebay and are color match.

I already have my JL 500/1 and Hot box sub enclosure. I'm just waiting for 12w6 to come down in price.

If you value your rear seat storage and like nice bass, that can put a fat grin on your face when you want to show off

search ebay for hot box.

jl subs, and focal speakers. i've had infinity speakers, and they're not the same since they became part of harman. i've blown infinity kappas and reference series, not to mention 2 reference series amps, and think the quality of their auto stuff has gone downhill.

I like my Focal components and two ways and the power of JL audio is second to none. IMO.

What about Bose speaker's? Might be a little expensive but I thought their speakers were some of the best. Anyone tried them?
