I just installed the AFE stage II intake and while I was at it I removed the silencer ring. The truck now sounds amazing, it's like I have a jet turbine under the hood now. As the turbo spools up and down you can clearly hear it with the windows up or down and it's a beautiful sound. It may be too loud for some but if you remove the silencer ring carefully it's a breeze to reinstall later.
It's hard to tell if there is really more power but it does seem like it just from the sound. I would say it was definitely worth price paid.

I did the same as you and I installed the torque tube and boy does it draw attention. People will look at you in a baffled way, if you race someone they will swear you run an aftermarket turbo.

I've had people in my cab ask me what the heck is wrong with my motor, I even had someone suggest that my exhaust was leaking.

I personally love the whistle. I'll admit, before I installed my exhaust for about a year I was sortive getting tired of the constant whistle. After the install of my exhaust everything is balanced(noise wise).

 

Get an SRT-10 hood and it will be MUCH louder outside, mine was anyways.

 

I left the silencer ring on mine and it is still loud. My dad was riding his Harley next to me and said he could hear the whistle over his loud bike
