AFE prefilter
AFE prefilter
I am lookin on genos right now at some fuel filters and such and I just came across the pre filters for the afe stage 2 kits.
With the progaurd 7 do yall think I should get the pre filter?
Will it cut down on the cfm any? If so is it noticable?
I had it explained to me that if I had the pg7 I wouldnt need the prefilter. But if I got the standard 4 ply filter I should get it and put the pre filter on. In either even I was told to take the prefilter off before racing.
What do you guys think?

I have used a pre-filter on all my AFE filters, Stage I standard, Stage I pro-guard 7 and Stage II Pro-Guard 7. The pre-filter will keep larger material(bugs, mud, etc.) from getting to the filter material and keep it cleaner longer and make it much easier to clean when needed. It also sheds water, not completely water proof but most water that is splashed on the pre-filter will just run off and never get to the filter material.
I don't know how much restriction it is, but not much and worth it to me.

Thanks.
