Does anyone know if an AFE boost tube will work between my stocker turbo and my Quadzilla Cold Air Intake Housing? I'm thinking about ordering one to try...

just put one on my 01 and it fits with the quad intake
also
just did one on a 03 and it fit also

seem to make boost come on harder and faster
not as much lag

 

Gotslicks, What did you do to make your AFE tube fit to the Quad intake? Did it it fit without any problem?

Mine did not even come close to fitting and I had to get some aluminum tubing and cut angle cut it to make up the gap at the Quad intake end. Along with that I also had to get another one of the intake hose couplers and clamp. In the end it looked like garbage so i just put the stock intake back on and cut the baffles out of the stocker before I did.

I've been meaning to pick up a AFE stage1 so the AFE torque tube will fit properly, but just haven't gotten around to it as its not high on my money spending priority list. Plus I'm leaning more towards an intake with a dry filter as I'm to impatient to wash, wait to dry and oil the filter.

ZachMI2003, if you end up ordering one and it works for you, let me know what part number it is. I'm wondering if they changed designs at some point.

come to think of it i think we extended the quad intake end? i gotta check?
maybe there was some gap and we used a longer 5 ply coupler we had at the shop?

the afe fits 98% with the quad intake on a 2001 i just did mine yesterday so its fresh in my mind! lol

 

The AFE torque tube is crap. Id go with the "Cool Hose"
