It's pretty well known that the Aero 404xl sounds good and has minimal drone when not pulling. What kind of tow weight have you guys experienced the dreaded drone? I'm about to get a 4,000lb wakeboard boat so with boat, trailer (tandem axel), and gear probably about 5,500lbs of tow weight. Thanks for any replies

 

I pulled a flatbed trailer with light load to Ala and back to NC. I weighed my truck while their, it was 9000 lbs with gear. Trailer and load were about 6500lbs
So total was only around 16500. Drone was not bad at all, and believe me if it would have been, I would have heard about it more than once from my wife. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Hope this helps, good luck.

 

A guy I work with and I car pool with go get hay from time to time in his 05 and he'll get 8 1 ton bales and his truck doesn't drone that bad.
