On my 4" Silverline exhaust, i want to try and get the tailpipe/ tip up closer to the body, is there anyway to do that? what about cutting off the "L" bend in the hanger, and putting a bend in it down further....

 

Thats hard to say without seeing , if you move it where you want , is it going to hit somewhere els where you don't ?
You should go to a muffler shop to see what parts/mnts avalible , to change things , that way if a part you want to install yourself will not work , they can help .
It may be that rebending at tail pipe would be the best opp.

 

I heated my stock exhaust pipe up with a torch and bent it back to exit on the corner of the bumper and up closer to the body.. it left a small crease in the pipe but nothing restrictive.

I think if you heat and just bend up instead of doing both like I did the pipe would not get the crease.

This is only easy if you or a friend have access to a torch.
Of course if you have access to a welder and have a good eye you should be able to mod your mounts just like you said.

it seems if all you need to do is raise the tip up is shorten the last hanger, as long as it does not move it closer to anything you should be fine.


although there is nothing like a day of exhaust work to get you cussing
