AD-150 and 03'

I have been reading a lot about the AD-150 install, the jeep canister and moding the stock fuel canister and so on. Everyone talks about the in tank pump and all are newer models. I haven't heard of anyone in those early years 03-04.5.

Has anyone done this on an 03'??

My stock unit looks different than all the other pictures I have seen on here so I thought the liberty canister might not work. I should take a picture but it seems to have a twist off instead of the metal ring like the others.
I wanted to modify the stock one but all I keep hearing about it the liberty canister is the only way to go to avoid the 1/4 tank issue. Plus it looks easier.

I am lost and don't want to tear my truck apart without a plan.

I am guessing that since I don't have an in tank pump I can modify my stock canister and it should be just as good as the liberty, right??

the AD150 needs a 1/2" drawstraw...you basically already have a jeep canister since your truck does not have intank pump...you "should" be able to mod you 03 canister to avoid 1/4 tank issues....my moded 06 canister works great..not need for me to spend the extra $80 on the jeep canister. you can do the same mod IMO and not have to worry about running out of fuel.

That should work for me. I guess I wasn't sure if the jeep canister was longer or something like that, then I looked at my truck and thought, thats not gonna fit. Then I was thinking the only reason they are using the liberty is because it doesn't have the in-tank pump that the later models do. I think it finally makes sense.

if you can use the Vulcan drawstraw with the return line built in you would have one sweet set-up IMHO...I wish I had a 03 tank now just cause that would be a sweet easy install...you would not have to mod your stock canister at all from what I can tell....the only thing that may or may not be a issue is that the return line on the vulcan pick up is not 1/2" also...but I really doubt that would cause any issues...
try it!!! take pics!!!! and post your results!!!

I actually bought a vulcan draw straw when I ordered the AD not knowing it came with a straw so I already have 2 straws. Figured I have 2 might as well use them and set it up using the canister. So I guess I can have a straw for the return and the pickup either way.
