A5k vs

how much bigger is an ht3b than a A5k. that is an A5k as the bottom turbo in the ATS twins set up. how much more air will the ht3b flow as a bottom turbo in a set of twins.

i know the exhaust housing is to small for big flow on the A5K. are you wanting to go twins or a big single?? if you're looking for twins the phat shaft twins from industrial is a very good setup. i think the ht3b is a larger charger but not by much.

The HT3b is not that efficient. They are some better ones that will flow more also. The s400 turbos are nice for the big turbo.

HT3B is comparible in sizes all the way around...you can get the A5K/K31 with turbine housing just as big as the HT3b.

The A5K/K31 will flow more than an HT3b.......
AND the K31 will take some abuse where the HT3B would have long since grenaded....
We see 60+psi out of our A5K based K31's.

When you get the HT3B in a single form to make boost before next year give me a call...I'll buy one!!!

I am looking at these two turbos as bottom turbos in a set of twins. what I want to know is will the A5K in the ATS twins set, out flow a HT3b as a bottom turbo in a set of twins. I think the A5k in the twins has a bigger housing than the ones everyone uses as a single or am I way wrong here.

I still havent made up my mind of big single or twins yet.

Yes it most likely will but they are similar in size and characteristics however the A5K in the twin setup will spool faster and provide more efficient boost in my opinion.
The HT3B is more antiquated technology...

If you want real efficient in a primary I would suggest an S400 Borg Warner their company reps told me it will outflow their own K31's.

What do you guys think of building a compound setup using a GT37/GT4202R. Someone told me that would not produce more than 600HP but I also heard a properly fueled setup will produce 85 percent of what the bottom turbo is rated at. The BD twins are both way smaller turbos than A GT4202 and those can flow more than 600HP.

It may be easier to find specs for a K31(A5K)...might be my new small charger in my twin setup :-)

As for a single I am very happy with my silverbullet, I am only now finding that a little more air would be good. And I am putting out some pretty good power. And I ran this turbo before I had much in the way of power adders, so I am pretty much sold on it
