80hp Dealer Injector Upgrade

I'm looking at 3rd gens right now and I'm brand new to them. I coming from a 24v. The truck I'm looking at right now is an 04 auto 4wd. He says the dealer put in 80hp injectors and all of its covered under warranty and doesn't void the factory warranty. I just wasn't sure if this is true or not. Thanks a lot guys! I'm sure I'm gonna have many more questions in the future! lol Thanks again

Eric

I dont know that I would trust the dealer. More important you need to find out where the injectors came from, who made them 80 hp.

I would want to see a document stating what they claim.

He may be talking about the 79hp Kax injectors. They are installed at Timberline Dodge in Oregon.

Also, let him know that you are interested in the truck, NOT the "wicked injectors" that he is trying to get you to pay extra for. If I were to buy my truck out right for $45k, dump $20k into modding it, the ONLY people that would appreciate or maybe even pay for the stuff that I did extra to it, would be somebody private party. Dealerships a lot of the time won't even take a modded out vehicle because they are scared that they will never sell it (the romping factor falls into play...if you see a vehicle that is HEAVILY modded, you start automatically thinking "this vehicle was BEAT on before it was on this lot"...justifiably so, he can't ask a CENT more for what he claims is in it from you.

Just do a Kelly Blue Book search for 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins with ALL sorts of aftermarket mods done to it...you can't, catch my drift?

That's a VERY good point. The injectors DO NOT increase the value of the vehicle.

some dealers in the state were installing Dr. Performance products for a period of time while keeping the warranty. Infact, one dealer close to College Station was busted for it!!! I don't know about injectors, but they were installing Dr. P boxes....and Dr. P does make injectors........

I really don't care about the injectors because Im planning to go with some Flux injectors anyways. I just want to make sure one of the sticks ain't gonna screw up and mess up the engine because I know that the 3rd gens are known to do that sometimes.

Bossier was a dealer for Dr. Performance and Edge and would rig trucks out with the parts and warrenty them. Since they are Lithia now they dont carry anything but Mopar. Its kind-of a smart way to keep people from going to different dealerships, we would would put performance parts on and tell the customer they needed to bring it back to us only, for service because of the mods.

When I USED to work there anyway. dont hate!
