6 inch lift with 37s opinions?
6 inch lift with 37s opinions?
With a six inch lift and 37 inch tires running 4.10 gears what kind of mpg should I expect? I have the 600 engine and auto tranny. Is there any reason I should stay away from this combo? Somebody with a similar setup told me they got 14 mpg mixed driving and that it handled very well.
I'm actually in the middle of doing this lift on my friends truck. He did a 6" fabtech with 37x13.50x17 Nitto Mud grapplers. His is an 03 SO with an EZ. We got the front done and put the tires on and man it is going to be close. I have a strong feeling that the tires are gonna rub pretty bad when he turns over a bump. He has 3.73's and with 33's, he's getting about 17 mpg. I'll let you know after the 37's but I don't think it's gonna be that good. I know my truck with 4.5" lift and 35's handles like a sports car. Stays very flat through the corners even at 30+ mph. 14mpg would seem reasonable if you stay out of it. Just be sure to add in some miles (at least 10%) unless you have the computer reprogrammed for the bigger tires otherwise your mileage will be off.
