4 inch down pipe?

I have an 03. I'd like to get a Nelson or Donaldson muffler. If I'm going to do that I might as well change the down pipe too. Anybody know the part number and where to get it? Will it be 4 inches from the turbo to the tip then?

You'll need the 4" cast elbow to be 4" tip/tip. I'm 4" back from where the muffler used to be. Been thinking of doing the elbow and down pipe. TommyGun used to sell these elbows on TDR, but I havn't dug for a P/N yet.

I changed mine over to from turbo back , including muff. , and was thinking about getting an elbow also , but still have the original turbo , one thought I had was that if I put the larger elbow than would that reduce the back pressure at the exhaust wheel and make it spool up slower ?

Luvnacumns, That'd be great...if it'll fit. I'll cover the freight and a case of your favorite.

Luvnacumns, thanks. I'm sure someone will chime in here if there is a problem with the fit. I guess all I need now would be the 4" cast elbow. Anybody have a suggetion on where to get one?

4"

I'll be doing the same thing, but I'm gonna do it with a PacBrake. C44045 model for the "04.5 is 4" in 4" out. Check them out. It's more than just a few dollars more for it, but I need one for towing. Just food for thought.

I'd like to do an exhaust brake, but I don't think the old transmission is up to the chore. Plus I only tow 11,000 pounds about 6 to 10 times a year. I'm not sure the $$$ would be worth the benefit in that case. I'm just trying to keep the EGT's down. The cold air intake helped, but I want to go one step further.

I did switch my downpipe on mine from one off of an 05. I did not do the work but it did fit.

You may already realize this but another alternative would be an MBRP or AFE replacement system, the downipe on those systems instantly flares to four inch, within a few inches of the cast iron elbow.
