I've been thinking about doing this but now that headers are becoming popular I think I'm just going to use a 2nd gen style header instead.

Will using the stock turbo from an '01 give any benefit on an '03?

Clay, no that will not help you. But if you got a stocker from an 04.5-06. Then that will a cheap upgrade from your 03 turbo. But it will not change the sound of your exhaust if thats what your after.

I love the sound.

I mean I kinda like my current loud raspy straight pipe 03 but the sound and I am both getting old. All my friends like it and it sounds cool at the dyno events but I miss the sound of my 2nd gen after watching your videos.

What muffler are you running?

I would totally do this if it didnt involve fab work.

got the 2nd gen manifold on the way...contemplating a turbo swap at the same time...something like a 62/65/14

Would it be easier to get a turbo for a 2nd gen?

A 2nd gen turbo is gonna require you to get the factory 90* elbow that clamps to the compressor housing.

You stole my idea! I just changed back from a silver bullet to my stocker on my 07. I love the fast spoolup of the stocker. I wanna go a touch bigger for egt issues and a lil more power but not sacrifice spoolup.
