25k+ gross 950 miles @ 80 mph
What a Sunday...
Moved Noah's Arc from Albuquerque to Boise. 8 horses, 2 cats, two kids, one wife, and an entire house...
55psi in the 37's, 70 psi in the air bags, and 85 psi in the trailer tires...and things still looked a little squashed.
Two other trucks covered the horses, but I had the entire house. 16 sheets of OSB, a dozen or so studs, and a bunch of tie downs later, I had a 34' long 8' wide x 6' tall moving "box" with EVERY sq. inch packed solid. Cruised almost the entire way at 1350 EGT and 20 psi boost with a whoping mileage of just under 10 mpg averge (a low of 6 during a section with one heck of a head wind). I really had myself worried about the long duration (14 hours) of fairly high egt's...but the truck felt quicker this morning "unloaded" than it ever has! We had to get the horses to their new home with no "lay-overs".
I never droped below 75 and ran most of the way between 80-85.
What an amazing truck! (I do wished the twins were on by this move...but the large "surging" no boost till 2k rpm single did just fine)

hey man, is ur truck the one they did the whole build on in diesel power mag?? cause it looks just like it, and has the same setup lift, tires, turbo and all... if so, congrads on the article!!!

I'd be willing to bet that between Albuquerque and Boise, if you aren't running 75+, you'll get run over by more than 1 semi
I'd rather run faster and not be a road hazard, than run slow and make everyone else wreck trying to avoid you!The only thing that would bother me, is the 37's on the truck...but in good shape, no worries

Yeah thats his truck. But he's been running that stuff for awhile i think and that article just came out.

Straight roads (except near Moab), pleanty of sight, not much traffic (which does drive that fast...thanks for remembering that...the big rigs do roll at 80 on that route) and a properly set up truck with a good driver. Safe.
The 37 BFG MT is rated at almost 3600 lbs a tire...at a 120 mph speed rating...sounds more than sufficent for my need.
If anyone want to bash, please start another thread. I was simply paying tribute to the "machine".
The article took almost 2 years to hit the press. I have 65k on the turbo, trans, and fueling mods. The truck and lift have more. I just flipped 100k!

He has the ATS auto. Nice truck for sure.
I tow my toy hauler the speed limit and pass if you are in my way. That's why I have my truck so I can maintain the speed limit and not be a hazard on the road, even on the hills.
