245 75 17 on a dually?

I am getting rid of the POS goodyear gsa's. I found a new set of BFG Rugged Trail's that came off a powerstroke. I went to the g-year and bfg sites comparing. The bfg is 10.1" wide on a 7" rim. My rim is a 6.5". The 235 80 17 gsa is 9.2" wide, but doesn't specify what size rim and is 31.4" tall vs. 31.8" for the bfg. Is the 1" bigger width to be concerned about rubbing on the rear? I am getting a good deal on 'em--- around $600 out the door.

misplacedtxn, I have 265 70 17 's on outsiderear and front. 245's 75's should fit with about 3/4 inch gap at the sidewall full inflated and fully loaded. The width to note with dually tires is not section width but overall width. If your current gap at the closest point is 1.75 inches then the new gap should be .9" smaller if the sizes are correct. As far as rim width's go the narrower the rim the more the tire will wear in the centre at full inflation. I run my 265's at 65 psi most times unless towing at the max and then they wear more evenly across the tire. Rotate frequently with the more aggressive tread to cut down on scalloping of the fronts. K.S.

I got the tires this morn. The gap looks to be about the same. I sure am glad to get rid of the goodyears. I paid $560 for everything! That sure beats over $1200 for the pos gsa's. I'm happy so far.

I go 28,000 and the fronts are splitting around the bead. I just didn't feel safe with them on.

Where did you get tires at that price . 6 tires mounted and balanced for under $600 for our trucks! Nice.
