2007 48re 4x4 rebuilt by JTT
I can just say i am very very happy with the work james did for me in dallas last week! I had scorched clutches and pretty much no pull in second gear! Now my truck runs like a viper! I wish lol but its quick! I towed my boat this past week to a tournament and usually have to take it easy through second gear cause of the wear, but now that its rebuilt it shifts firm and in my opinion is much better!
Also had a billet input and flexplate done as well!
Very proud of Jame's work!
Congrats Zach!
My truck is getting James' magic touch even as we speak.
I can't wait to get it back. Apparently my rear main oil seal was leaking so he already got the seal and fixed it while the trans is out. He said my stock TC was showing signs that it had been slipping (big surprize there huh..
). And my 3rd gear clutches were worn some. Overall my stock trans has held up great....but it won't even compare to this new rebuild.
When done it will have everything billet (except intermediate shaft), all DTT internals, billet flexplate, VB and the new DTT Triple Disk TC. He said I will have to "relearn" how to drive my truck.....especially in the rain.

Yeah it's a pretty common so I hear. I thought my oil was just from the blow-by tube...but apparently not. I am very glad he (james) went ahead and took care of it now. No labor charge. Just the cost of the seal.
I was going to wait and start my own thread after I got my truck back, but then I saw this one and had to jump in. I am so happy to be finally getting this trans taken care of.....since I have been trying to squeak by on the stock trans for the past 40,000 miles or so while I saved up the funds $$$.

Now get yourself a real power adder and watch out!!!
Zach, I'm glad to hear you are happy w/James' work. He's real knowledgable & a real nice guy. TexasCTD, I thought you were gonna go w/a Goerend tranny and have James do it? What happened to the Goerend idea?

No that wasn't me. That was you.
I did post a couple of times on here that James is now an authorized Goerend's installer, for those that insist on that brand of Transmission.I have never heard anything bad about Goerends and would have no problem going with them. However, they only warranty the trans if you pull it out and send it back to them or bring it to Iowa. That R and R isn't free. Nor is shipping. Nor the time your truck is down.
Personally, I believe that any of the major brands are all fine. The important thing is to have a good LOCAL builder/installer who can stand behind it. James happens to build DTT products, so that is why I went with that brand. And I know a bunch of guys who have been very happy with their DTTs.

James specifically "lock tite'd" my TC bolts today and made a point to tell me so.

I haven't had good or bad luck "yet" with him. But I do have confidence that it will be right or he will make sure it is, if it isn't. I should get mine back Tomorrow or Thursday so I can feel the difference myself.
But if for some reason there is a problem (im not expecting one), I will certainly give the man a chance to fix it....unlike at least one of those of whom you refer. Anybody can make a mistake and any man made thing is subject to failure........particularly when abused.

Here is his outdated website with the phone listed. Give the man a call and tell him "TexasCTD" sent ya. ( I get no personal financial gain from it) But I told him I would help him if I was happy with his work.

1-972-467-3702 Is his cell number and he always answers it! After you tell him that "TexasCTD" sent ya then tell him the guy that fishes tournaments sent ya!
Anyways you will be proud of his work!

Been tons of guys on here with DTTs built by James...with no issues...that loved 'em! I know of one special member that ALWAYS bragged about his tranny until his "lil' problem" some time ago...and thats all part of doing business with people...
