2006 Mega cab Lift and Tires

I have a stock 2006 Mega cab DSL, I am looking at a 6" superlift with 37 Toyos on a 20" rim. Can someone tell me if that is a good combination and if I need to have any offset in the wheels ? I drive this truck every day on the road only, would a 4.5" lift look and perform better ? Thanks

Here is my 05 with the same combo you are talking about..

I literally hated jumping in and out all day long. I too work out of my trucks and it was pretty cool for the first six months but after that I hated it.. you can still fit 37's and 20's on a 4.5 lift..

I have a 4.5" Fabtech on my 07 with 35" rubber. I use it for work everyday and I'm in and out of it ATLEAST 20-25 times a day and its alright but I wouldn't go any bigger. A buddy of mine is in the same feild of work and he ran a 8" lift on his 03 CTD with 37" tires and it was a pain in the a$$ to work out of. Also I run my OEM wheels right now with no problems I will put some rims on it after I put some more HP to it!

Thanks for the reply's , I am only in and out of the truck 4-6 times a day at the most. Would you still recomend only 4.5" lift. I dont want the truck to be all tires so maybe i would go with 35" with a 4.5" lift.

I like the 6" & 37" combo. It depends on off-set and what you do with the truck. I have a friend with the 4.5/37" and he rubs occasionally when we are wheeling.

I will post some pics of my truck ASAP. I like the look of the 35" with the 4.5" lift. My tires havent rubbed yet even with mud flaps on. A friend of mine has a 4.5" and 37" tires and he ripped off two of his mudflaps from the tires rubbing on them.
Just my opinion but I think 6" with 37" rubber looks the best and 4.5" and 35" rubber also

Yeah, definitely go 4.5/35 or 6/37's. Looks much more proportional to everything. It all depends on your wheel offset and backspacing. If you want the wide look like me, then you will have to have your fenders rolled by a body shop which will cost you about $500 for the pair. If you don't care about having that wide look, just get less offset wheels that keep your tire/ wheel tucked in and you won't have the big problems with rubbing.

If I had to do it again I would go 4.5 with the right equipment and roll 37's.. Xlr8r is running 37's with minimal lift..

You can move the front fender back about 3/4 of an inch if you unbolt the bottom of the fender by the front of the door and push on it just make shure your door still opens and closes without catching!!
