16 inch rims - work on an 06, 3500, 4x4?

My brother has some new, toyo, mud-somethings that are for 16" rims. If I got some 16" rims, would they fit over the calipers & stuff? Or is 17" rims the smallest that will fit on a newer Dodger?
Thanx.

i tried it with my 05 and it wouldnt, theres only like an inch( if that) in between the 17 inch rim and caliper, but still i had to try it, because i loved my wheels and tires off my old ctd, but it was a big no go.....now i dont know if its different on a dually ( unless your 3500 is a srw) but it wouldnt work on mine.....sorry bud

When the 3rd gens were released for 03 they bragged that the wheel size had to be increased to accomodate the 13" disk brakes.

Yup, pretty much no way. Those 13.8" rotors and dual piston calipers are huge. I know there is only about 1/4" from the caliper to the wheel on the front of mine, using stock aluminum rims.

It is a bummer I can't use the possibly free tires, but I'd rather have big hairy brakes.
