1/4 tank trouble ?

Ok I am getting ready to add either a fass airdog or walboro pump. I am just hesitant due to hearing of the 1/4 tank issues. Is there anyway other than the jeep canister mod or not going to a 1/4 or less to fix that?? Do certain install methods of draw tube yield better results?? I like to get out in remote locations camping and quad riding and hate to have to worry about fuel getting a little low especially while ascending and descending large grades.

With the FASS I just installed a longer straw about 1/4 to 3/8 from the bottom. Mine works fine.

If I had to do it over again, I'd make sure my line went all the way into the sump with some filter screen/bag over it.

Mine was done by a local shop. I am totally cool until I hit 1/8 of a tank. But at that point it only drops when coming to a stop. But it soon starts doing it on turns not too long afterwards. It really is not that big of a deal because I had the tank-vent-tube-mod done at the same time. And I have noticed that you can still cruise on the fwy for a while with the "low fuel" light on.

Its just as easy to keep it from half to full as it is from empty to half

Well i read the post on the 1/4 tank issue's before i installed my glacier system thought i had it cased I put the draw tube right on the bottom and cut it at the slight angle. I have dropping fuel pressure every time i get to that 1/4 tank mark. When i installed it i pulled the fuel tank out and did it that way some have pulled the bed off the truck and set up their draw while the tank was still mounted not sure if that works better but i would consider doing mine again if there was a solution.

I heard that you dont have to drop the tank to hook up an airdog 100 or remove the bed.. this true?? I have a 2005 dodge 2500 4x4 6speed quad cab. will the 100 support the smarty and possible 50hp injectors and possible towing turbo or forget the 50 hp and throw a tst in there..???

I installed the new pickup tube into the factory basket/pump assembly. I setup a Hobbs switch to automatically shutoff the electric pump at 12psi. The mechanical pump never puts out less than about 17psi. I have a switch on the A-pillar so I can override the Hobbs switch and run the electric factory pump at will. I figured that as the fuel level got low I could run the factory pump to use the factory method of drawing fuel into the basket. So far I have ran it as low as 1/8 and have not seen the fuel pressure drop below 17psi even without running the factory in tank pump. In summary, I don’t have the ¼ tank issue at all.
