06 to weak without a box? to box, or not to box?

my 04 has been acting up (alot)

so i took it in to trade it in after the dealer could not find anything wrong.
(took it to a different dealer in another town,
late, after service dept was closed

anyways, had my 04 BDDLPP on Perf for last year, FIPK and strait pipe.

drove an identical (4:10 4x4 QC) 06, except it was full boat loaded.

the wife was NOT impressed with the 06, she was scared to pull out into traffic, that it would not step out like the 04 would.

she drove it 2 days, she put ~60 miles on it, and i put 40.

i guess my problem is this:
if I say "okay, having a box on my 04 broke it"

and I say "i won't put a box on my 06 to not break it"

what do you do about missing all that power?

i mean, even if I get my 04 back to running, it's lame on stock (after a year on Perf),

so should I put the box back on? I just paid ~$100 to have the dealership reflash the ECM back to stock Dodge parameters (he forgot to do the horn-honkie/reverse thing!)

can you live without the power? that power is addictive.

stock sucks! Why not do a converter and VB along with an AFE and Exh. That way you feel more power to the ground but there is nothing that can go wrong plus your trans is actualy stronger.Oh and this setup will give you better milage. If thats not enough put in a 40 or 50 HP set of injectors. Thats about as reliable as it gets and the dealership will not be able to tell anything has been done unless the dig really deep.

The first step to recovery (of lost power) is to admit you have a problem.
If the wife borrows the truck and I have to drive her Camaro or the F-150 to work,,,,,,,,, I DON"T look forward to the drive home and it's only 25 miles! Then again,,,, my Dad drives a stock 05 CTD and he says it's got more power than he will ever need. Of course his last truck before that was a V-10 Ram, but that wasn't exactly a slouch either.

Good Luck!
