How loud is your 05? mine I dont get it its loud but it is loud on all cylinders not just one but it sounds like most of the noise is coming from the pass. side front no eux. leak oil level is good never ran a pressure box MPG is good. I just dont get it its made 448 H.P. and 925 TQ. with the Edge, cool twist intercooler, Volant air box, Silverline Turbo back Eux. Floor it Diesel Trans and stage 1 CP3 pump but it has done this from almost new before I did anything to my truck I have run Power service thru it Red line 85+ add. run most always BP Diesel Change fuel filters. and it seems like it shakes alittle at idle to around 1100 rpm then clears up. Changed flexplate. it all started when the truck was new had few thousand miles no mods towed 28ft trailer enclosed and I ran its Ba$$ off it started getting loud after that. I then put the Edge on it then took it off figured the trans would smoke Then towed 16k figured if the inj. were getting dirty this will clean them out ran the ***** off it again still loud. Got the trans done put the box back on it did the rest of the mods in my post figured what the heck it must just be this loud then this 04.5 pulls up at the dyno with mods eux full meal deal heck you cant even hear it run compared to my truck mine sounds like a Diesel get it? so what do I do for my truck? I treat it to a nice TST box Oh boy does it like that box. John at Floor it Diesel is going to go thru the valve train see if he finds any thing there. he listen to it one time and said it sounded fine but there was not another truck around to compare it too. I baby this thing dont get me wrong I spank it but never before it is up to temp and I do have a short drive to work but it gets up to temp. I have run Seafoam thru it power service 85+ Red Line. anyone elce have a loud 05? any ideas? my friends triple nickle (555) dont shake quite but he does suck a ton of my Diesel smoke he wont even Race anymore Sorry for the long post

Sorry I dont wright well and spell well I was to cool for school. Sorry I lost you there my 05 makes more noise then other 05s any Ideas?

 

When you say more noise, is it the normal diesel clatter that your hearing or is it something that seems out of place? Could just be that in one of your spankings it broke it in. These engines will get louder the more miles they have on them.

 

seems to sound normal Diesel sound just louder then other 05s with chips dips and whips on them also. Thanks for the info could be normal but I am just freaking

 

With my '97 running next to my '05, you cant tell the '05 is running...

Its much quieter than a 12valve, BUT I have noticed some are louder than others (04-05s)

Friend of mine has a 04.5, and his is quite a bit louder than mine, but he has 60k on his, versus my 36k...
