04 Electrical issues

Hey guys im having some issues with my 04 it seems that when the temp drops below 50 deg. my truck goes crazy, as soon as i turn the key on the head light come on by themself, while im driving all my dash lights flash on and off my gauges drop to zero for a couple seconds and then come back to the correct position yet the truck performance remains flawless. but like today it was in the 70's and i didnt have a single problem, has anyone ever run in to this issue or have any ideas

Based on the temperature, I'd venture a guess that there is either something not wired up correctly with your grid heaters, or the grids themselves have an issue. I can't think of what specifically would fail on the grid heater itself since they're basically just an electric heater.

You could try disconnecting the wires from the grid heater next time it's cold and see if the truck behaves the same way.

You said it flashes the dash lights while driving. Does this only happen when moving slow, or at higher speeds as well? The intermittent nature almost sounds like you only have issues when the grids are powered, which makes me think of a short or poor connection.

Are your batteries the original ones? If so, my money is on a battery going south. Our trucks do funky things when a battery is on the way out.
