03' what programmer/box?

My next step is 5" exhaust, then gauges, but the next big one to plan for is the computer. I have a few ideas such as, Smarty, Bullydog, and Banks six gun. The tranny improvements will come after that is why I want a product that will be too hard on the tranny (as long as I keep my foot out of it more often than not). I really dont stomp on it too much anyway, don't tow that often either.

What would be my best bet and bang for my buck for a programmer or box?
I see a lot of people on here using smarty but this is the only place I have heard of it so I don't know too much about it. Everyone I know recommends Bully dog and crazy larry but I cant get the crazy larry on my 03' so is it really worth it? Banks seems to have a few tranny safe guards that I appreciate but I never hear anything on here about it.

Of course there is a little warranty concern but my tranny will be out of warranty in october when I reach 70k miles and then its up to me anyway. My only other fear is the lift pump, but that is an easy fix with an aftermarket.

Any advise will help. Thank You!

I would go with the diablosport predator. Its a little cheaper than the smarty and Bullydog. It cannot be traced either. If you are wanting to save a little money than look at it. As far as your exhaust, unless you are planning on going over 500 HP than there is no need in putting on 5" exhaust.

Talking

I recently bought my '04 and it already had a number of mods done to it. MY truck has TST PowerMax3 programmer on it and I love it!! It is one of the pricer programmers out there, but sometimes you get what you pay for. It is nice because you can put in a set EGT and once you hit it, it backs of the fuel until it lowers, and I believe it dones the same with boost. Also has a built in turbo timer, so you can walk away from you truck with it locked up. Check out this link, hope this helps.

5" isn't neccessary, but like 7" stacks it just sounds cool.

I guess you could go with stacks if you want a semi. I prefer a truck to a semi.

I love my predator - just like everyone else who has them. I just wish I could back up and get the Diablo stack from thoroughbred for $380. The Gdp pump kit is also about $380. Craig

yeah, listen to most of us, Predator/puck stack is awsome power. or predator alone on "xtreme" is crazy...or u can do the predator/"hot" juice stack if you build ur tranny...it has made 600+hp on some 03-04 trucks...

Diablosport Predator all the way!
The Predator/Puck stack is by far the best bang for your buck. I had a Quad race box and on the 140 setting it did not have no where near the power the predator has on extreme. My EGT's are lower now on extreme then when I had my Quad on 140. I have not got to try my puck yet but like I said the predator on extreme will really wake up a 03-04 truck.

Edge Juice with or with out the moniter. Good power and lots of safe guards along with the abilitie to remove those if you want.

As other have stated.....Save a few dollars and get the DiabloSport Predator programmer & Power Puck for $380 from Thoroughbred Diesel and be done with it.

I used to run the BD Power Pup & Dr. Performance module stacked & let me tell ya what.......Absolutely NO comparison.

The DiabloSport Predator/Puck is a hard combination to beat, especially for the price.....

The power is way smoother & lasts through the entire RPM range.....

Hows the EGTS on the stock turbo with the puck stack or just the predator on extreme??

I'm between the hot juice and the predator then a could also stack a ez with the juice or the puck with the predator if a ever needed more down the road.

I was juice all the way till a hear the predator is adjust on the fly and in the new diesel world they showed a montior to go with it so now i'm confused on what to go with.

I'd probably like to go with which ever has the best EGT control.

Friend stacked Bank Six Gun/Speed loader with Bully TRiple Dog. Loves it, but get the tranny modded or you will fry it.

I have not seen high EGT's with the diablo stack, but I havent towed anything either. The puck seems to increase the EGT's a little but not much.
The preditor for the 03-05 (U7130) at this time does not adjust on the fly as far as I know its only the 06+ (U7131).
With that said I would highly recommend the Diablosport predator with or without the puck. But for $380 for both its hard to pass up. By far the best bang for the buck! IMO
I did look at the bully dog for the monitor features & other goodies cause my bro has it in his 05, but without the crazy larry tune for the 03 it didn't make sense to pay more money for less HP.
My truck shifts smoother than his & he was impressed with the power. I haven't heard of anyone not praising their predator. The difference from stock is amazing! I thought my 03 had good power at stock, but the predator makes it feel like its on steriods & Im becoming a junkie cause I cant wait to get my next fix.

So what kind of gains do you think I would see with the puck stack, 160-180Hp??

Also what level is the best to run the puck on 60 of 90??

For 380 that isn't bad even after I buy gauages cause the Hot juice is 750, 650 for the 100hp version.
