the big healthy ctd will never sound like a rice without a cat. roar baby roar. i dont have a drone, cause you cant hear anything over my turbo! but no ricer sound, and 12v's sound better than a 3rd gen.

Mine sounds like a big rig. Man I love that sound, sometimes I roll down the rear passenger window just to listen to the sweet sweet music. I get a little drone from 55-60, but its not overwhelming. My advice, pull that lever!

i have never heard a ricer sound like its ripping through air, the way my truck blows doors off innocent bystanders in traffic.

a straighpiped dodge has a deep, deep, even roar. it has my highest recommendation.... even though i think my truck will sound even better with a 5" with 6" duals straightpiped!!

Red neck exhaust upgrade?? had and old ford 460 truck i knocked the guts out of the cat. converter with a long pipe. i got a little better milage and it sounded better. I know it's a poor mans upgrade but is that possible with the 06's?

I'll never put a muffler back on mine! I bought a piece of 4", a 3.5"-4" bell, and a 45*.

If you have access to a 10" abrasive chop saw, you can cut a couple of slivers out of the 45*.

Once you mig weld everything together, you end up with no bends, and a slight "dog leg" looking muffler replacement.

Definately does NOT sound like a ricer-used to drive one cause i couldnt afford a DODGE/Cummins. i cut the muffler off my dads '03 and left it at that-music to my ears! my dad hates it so im gonna put his muffler back on when im home next week-and im straight piping my new '07 then too. there is some turbo whistle-i drove my dads with the back window open just so i could hear it. honestly right after i cut it off i laid into it and wound it up and heard the turbo and started lookin around for the "cop" that was after me-then i realized it was the turbo. i say nothin sounds better than a straight piped cummins

I'll be honest with you...when my Geno's straight pipe went in, it was just ok. I thought it sounded a bit "metallic". But it seemed the more I drove, the better it sounded. I swear, all it needed was some soot buildup in that Geno's pipe to create the sound we all want. After a few weeks, it was great.
