03 SO build date before Jan 1 03 is a 47re.....after a 48re....And the 47 re can be made to be 48re but there are quite a few parts. I have a 250hp SO truck with a 48re. ks

Why did they put the SO out in the first place? Besides the california emissions BS. What are the real differences between the SO and the HO?
My truck was bought in California, it is a SO w/ the 48re.
