Where is the first smog device on the exhaust, room for a Y-pipe?
I am just curious. Is there a stretch of pipe between the first cat or filter and the turbo?
I am just wondering if anyone has tried to y-pipe off a 3'' exhaust to the back. I wonder if it would keep enough of the exhaust running through the factory exhaust to keep all the sensors satisfied.
I had a 2004 hemi Dodge where I did something like this. I had a straight 3'' exhaust. I had a y-pipe with a cat going off, w/all pre & post sensors, and then y-piping back into the 3 inch straight exhaust. It worked well.

The NOx absorber is located in the downpipe mere inches away from the backside of the turbo. This whole exhaust is basically a series of filters and restrictions from turbo to tailpipe. Im so glad that my new nerf bars cover up the majority of the exhaust. that way if something were to (oops!) fall off, it isn't that noticeable looking at the truck.
