Question What is acceptable engine temperature range?

Folks;
what is the acceptable temperature range for the 6.7l?

I did a 300 mile run today with my 4500 dump truck pulling my buddys new Kubota L3800 plus implements (approx 7,000 lbs tractor & trailer) and in the hills of northern NH the truck would get up to 213 degrees and then settle back down to the normal 196/198 degree temperature on flats and downhills.

Should I be conerned that the temp got up to 213 on steep hills? Is 213 to 215 too high?

I have the 6-speed manual so the trans was not adding to the engine temp.

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as it comes back down to the normal range fairly quickly it is no big deal. Mine will climb up into that range pulling hills or even away from stops if I accelerate heavily with my trailer behind me. My trailer weighs right at 10,000 empty. Put 12-15,000 on it and it is a pretty good load. Normal temp this time of yr is around 200-210 loaded, of course I'm in South Texas.
