Question What’s the difference between a recall and a service bulletin?

Is there a difference? Is one covered under warranty and the other for the life of the vehicle?

A recall is covered for life of the vehicle and usually for a safety problem or something that was mandated by the FMCSA to be rectified. Sometimes the FMSCA gets involved, othertimes Daimler Chrysler decides on their own that it needs taken care of. A TSB is a Technical Service Bulletin. It is a document to help technicians diagnose a problem easier. Usually a TSB is made after several technicians have reported seeing a problem that otherwise may be difficult to diagnose.

Ohhhh, I see. I just took my truck in for the loose drive-train (bad TC? Who knows), and I mentioned the vibration/buzzing through the steering wheel/pedels. I guess they'll want some $$ to fix that. I hope the transfer case or whatever is causing all the slop in the drive-train is covered. I still have less than 70k on the truck.

BTW, thanks for answering my question.
