Not sure if I will get a response on a Friday night, but here goes...

I have a newly acquired 2007 6.7 - crew, auto, 4x4, cab and chassis.

My turbo has locked up and I guess the bearing went out. I have found a low mileage take off that is stock, for $500, but I don't know what model it came off of.

I have been told the "regular" truck and the Cab and chassis are a different computer. Will the turbo matter which version of the truck it came off, as long as it is a 6.7? or do I have to find a cab and chassis turbo in order for the computer/exhaust brake, etc to work.

any other advice would be helpful. This is the first diesel to do any wrenching on.

Should the inner cooler line have oil in it? if not, what should I check next?

same turbo (99% sure). its the ECM and tranny that are different

 

there are some numbers on the electronic box connected to the side of the turbo, but there are no numbers actually on the turbo housing except what might be casting numbers.

on the housing: Holset TVS then printed real small K781681210

on the electronic box: actually 4 sets.
one says TYPE HE351Ve.

these mean anything to anybody?

 

If i can remember tomorrow, i will ask our parts guy if the turbo part number is the same.
