Trouble Codes P0488 & P0700?
Check engine lights on, P0488 will clear, but come back on next re-start. P0700 will not clear. I think I had a APPS code a few weeks ago, cleared on it's own. Truck runs fine, just want the check engine light off, '08 3500 AT w/deletes. 2 years and no check engine light until now. Wondering if the P0700 could be from mouse damage, found a nest in hood insulation pad, don't see any wires chewed yet. Thanks for all replies.

The P0488 is a TCV or egr vale code IIRC. Could be some wiring damage in that harness due to the rats nest.
P0700 is the generic tranny code telling you that there's one or more tranny codes stored in the tcm. You'll have to find someone to read those codes for you.

Got the P0700 to clear disconnecting batteries, found one battery to be weak, will replace both asap. P0488 clears but returns upon start-up. Thanks.

Read the Smarty Jr. instructions to see that the EGR airflow throttle valve should be unplugged so I unplugged it, don't know why I just started getting the P0488 after 2 years but it is code free now. Instructions also say to keep the EGR valve motor plugged in, wish I had one, mine was deleted before I got it. Anyone know where to buy a used one? Thanks for all replies.

The only affect you'll have if you unplug the egr actuator is you lose around 40hp but you'll keep the tuning benefits and all. Nothing else is affected so its not a critical item to source.
Now if you're going for a 500hp machine then its something I would look into but then again you wouldn't want to run a SmartyJr in that case.
I sourced a complete egr valve from a forum member for a stealth egr disable im running. You can look for posts of members deleting their trucks and pm them about purchasing the actuator like I did.
It shouldn't take too long to find one.
