Transmission will not shift 5th - 6th

Last couple of weeks my truck has not been shifting from 5th to 6th gear on start up and about the first 2 miles. Then it shifts and works fine the rest of the time. Took it to the trans shop and they feel its a computer issue. Trans checked fine and no issues on the computer. They recommended a trip to dealer. NOT!!!

I have just in-installed my programmer then re-installed it as of now. This is my first action... posting here is my second action.

Anyone got any ideas????

Thanks for your time.

sounds like temperature is the factor controlling the shift, if there is a temp sensor in the trans, change it!
The trans temp sensor is probably bad. Its on the same unit as the gov pressure sensor.

Are you in a cold climate? This sounds fairly normal to me and part of the programming. My trans won't shift into the OD until it is warm enough as well...
