5th to 6th Shift

To shift from 5th to 6th, I have to push the gearshift lever to the passenger side. If I do not do this, it gets hung up. Is this normal?

It's normal. What I do to make the 5-6 shift quicker is push the shifter down and towards the passenger side with a flick of the wrist. Once the tranny gets some miles on it it will really loosen up and you can shift really quickly with it. If you're good, you can really get some impressive acceleration numbers.

Obviously, I've been practicing.

It certainly will....as I have experienced the unpleasant sound of gears grinding on too many occasions.
