so far mine starts at -27* without being plugged in. Doesnt sound happy at all but it starts. The only diesels that are bad in the cold are the 7.3 and 6.0 PSD.

both the ctd and the dmax's are fine in the cold weather.

various cold starts...I like the 6.0 one the best.

I have heard very little complaints about the QC's and MC's which you stated above but if you like the GM go buy it it's a nice truck. The interiors are nicer in the Chevy but I'm perfectly fine with the Dodge and the Cummins is the best engine of the bunch and most honest GM folk will agree.
The Chevs that I've sat in had more leg room than my Dodges. He wasn't asking about a Ford so I didn't address that.

The MC is cool on the inside but I don't like enough people that much to spend that kind of dough so they are comfy in the back. Anybody I like that much can sit in the front seat. My friends have jobs they can drive their own rigs or shoe horn themselves in the back seat. I need an 8' bed that's a no on a MC so no matter how nice it is it's not working for me.

If you haven't heard about the blend door and bad AC on 3rd gen Dodges try the search function. There's pleanty to read on the uncomfortable seats too. Somebody went so far as to post a way to add foam to make the seats better. I've never said the Dodge didn't have the best motor and the new E brake is sweet.

I'm gonna have to make a move to become an Engineer for Mopar, I made that decision last night. I think these trucks need to be designed by the people the DRIVE them. I know cost is sometimes an issue, but there are SO many better ways to address some of the issues these trucks have without ever spending an extra penny (assuming you're spending money to fix it the "dodge" way. e.g. ETS bearing kits for the front ends).

Well, getting the job isn't the issue it's getting "upper management" to listen and agree with you when you tell them why something is better.

Gotta love corporate America, I deal with that sorta stuff everyday at work already.

I drive a Duramax but it's the last of the ones before the emmissions junk. The new Dmaxs seem to be working well and have been getting decent fuel mileage though not near the mileage of the older Dmaxs or an older Cummins.

They all have there issues so you could get a bad egg from any manufacturer.
