My 2006 Dodge owner guide said to wait until 25000 miles before I could put in synthetic oil.

Which Mobil 1 did you use? The only Mobil 1 for the 6.7 out now is Delvac 1 ESP 5w-40 which I can't find locally. The only place I have found it is http://www.avlube.com/

I have never used synthetic oil in my trucks and would like to know how many miles do you go between oil changes using the synthetic stuff? I am going 6000 miles with Shell Rotella 15w40
BTW I have a 07 5.9 if that makes any difference!!

There are differant groups of synthetic oils.Group 3 and Group 4.The Group3s are less money, flow good cold and protect hot. What they don't do is have the ability to go as long as group 4 oils, the more costly. The Rotella synthetic is a group 3.More reading on www.bobistheoilguy.com

Last time I checked the Rotella 5W-40 Synthetic is still not a CJ-4 rated oil which is required for the 6.7s and other 2007 DPF equipped trucks. This is based on what WalMart has on the shelves as well as what Rotella was publishing on their website a couple of weeks ago.

I use royal purple in my dart and yukon so far. The stuff seemed great, it really made the solid cam and valvetrain noise in my dart a lot more quiet. Seems to me that would be better. It did not improve mileage in the yukon, but I still use it.
