Starting problems

Sometimes when I go to start the truck the starter will not turn over. I wait for all the dings to end and have had the tsb for the seccurity module/ static eletricity done. Some times if I wait with the key in the start position for 2 -3 seconds it will start cranking. Other times I have to turn every thing back off and try to start and it will work just fine. Could this be a starter problem?
07.5 6.7L dually 4x4 stick.

Thanks,
Mike

Never had this happen to me, but sounds like it may have to do with starter or security? Maybe someone else who has had this happen will chime in. Good luck!

Have you used a different key in the past?

Is this a replacement key?

It could also be the security module, since you've said it just got worked on. Usually all keys for the vehicle need to be taken in when it's worked on.
