Does anyone have any experiance with royal purple oils? Im due for diff/tranny fluid changes on my 5500 and was thinking of going with their MAX GEAR and MAX ATF ...any opinions?

P.S a local performance shop sells it for $7.99L (CAN)

I like RP. My last engine oil change was at 25k since last, and the lab said it could go longer. I also have it in the F/R diff. This weekend, everything gets changed out: engine, diffs, NV5600, transfer case.

I have had RP in my NV5600 for over 60,000 miles with no complaints.

My neighbor is a sales engineer who sells pump seals, RP is his lubricant line & all the big companies swear by the RP lubes, Anheiseer Busch is one of his best customers, used it on my last truck, as soon as this one breaks in, moving over to all RP.

I use RP as a exclusive drivetrain lubricant in all my cars and in all my gas engines (except RX7 rotary), but am hesitant to use it in diesel engine. I have read extensively and found that supposedly some additives in RP and high cylinder temp/compression of the diesel engine do not mix well. I have never done any tests so I can't confirm this, but till I find otherwise, and I still have some time for now I'm staying away from RP.

I read the moly in RP comes out under high heat and/or pressure and turns into a graphite like substance which will hurt your motor. Same article said cummins stated you shouldn't use it in their motor.

I've used Max Gear or Mobil 1 in my diffs for years.

Sometimes its a different brand in each diff. The parts stores around me never seem to cary enough of either one to do both diffs.

My dad has used RP in his race engines for years as well. Small blocks, big blocks,it doesn't matter they all get RP.
