Rear main or pan seal leaks? anyone.

I was under the truck a few days ago, trying to find a intermintant rattle that comes from the engine, well, look there the rear main or rear pan gasketts leakin. Just little oil, not enough to make a drip yet. The back of the valve covers a little oily also.

Any of you all have engine oil leaks? Guess I really won't worry about it, since the engine seems to make it's own oil.
Wish it'd make enough to burn for fuel.

The Dealership did a full fuel system test about a month ago.
Found nothing wrong. Had the truck for 3 days.

Out of all the complaints I had on this truck, the only one they helped with was hanging in reverse.
I was told to let the truck come to a complete stop before shifting outta reverse, works like butter now.

Rear of Rocker box is a fairly common leak. Its covered under the engine warranty. Not a hard repair. Then I would add some oil dye and black light the lower leak.Make sure its not residue from the vent hose.

When diagnoseing oil leaks you always start from the top of the engine and go down. If it is leaking up top it is dripping on the bottom so to speak.

If you are making oil something is wrong, when mine made oil they did all the tests for injectors and they tested good. However, it was still making oil so they started throwing parts at it. I kept telling them it was an injector or something to do with the injectors, they rolled there eyes and said, "They tested good" They contacted Cummins and they told them to do an extreme high-pressure test on the system. That is done by plugging the return fuel line from the injection system. That found the problem, one of the sealing rings on the injector where it goes into the head was leaking and the fuel was spraying into the top of the head and draining down into the crankcase. Replaced the seal and that was about 30,000 miles and all is well.
