puff of blue smoke

What would be a probable cause(s) behind a puff of blue smoke from the exhaust on almost every startup?

are you sure its blue and not the light messing with you, before i deleted my egr i had a bubby tell me that the smoke had a blue tint to it once in a while

it's blue just like from a gas vehicle. also had a very diesel-minded-owning guy @ work tell me it was blue.
