Not at all. What I am saying is this STUPID DPF and EGR are a waste of a good motor and will be the death of them. My truck has 700 miles on it, and it has no DPF or EGR. It cost me $55 in metel and the guys in our shop can fab anything.

I agree with this completely. The DPF And EGR will kill this motor. Get rid of it and your oil will be clear and it can breath.

I picked some PS and MMO up yesterday and will start using it now that someone decided to steal my whole exhaust system and all I could afford to replace it with, due to the poor economy, is straight pipe...... Now if I can just remember the formula for mixing it. Isn't it two parts PS to one part MMO?

Dodgezilla,

Many people use between 4-10oz of MMO mixed into 16-32 oz of Power Service.

Thanks. That's what I used way back when I had my 07. I just couldn't remember the exact formula but I thought it was a 4-1 ratio. I did some reading on how this mix is not the greatest additive out there but I already bought it so I will probably just use it and then get one of the better lubricating ones out there......

Lots of us used to mix Kerosene anywhere from 30-50 percent with #2 and we never gelled.

That was on an old 6.2, somehow I doubt it would hurt a Cummins.

The Cummins can handle it. It what comes out of the Cummins going into that ridiculous exhaust system that will be the issue....

Just a little, FYI I would be a bit careful about what I added to these new engines. While I am a big advocate for fuel additives that are a good quality and add lubricity, see this link, http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/sho...ubricity+Study
I also know that to replace an injector is around $2000 each and they are a lot more sensitive than previous common rail trucks. Not exactly sure why, but it has been confirmed by my Friendly dealer guy. I have read about guys trying to burn their used motor oil etc and trashing an entire set due to residual soot etc that didn't get filtered out of the fuel. Adding heavy oils "may" cause hydraulic issues also. I for one use the Opti Lube products to be safe.
Remember, it's what you DON'T know that will get ya!

Where do you get that Opti-Lube? It seems to rate really high on the list of additives.
I think I'm gonna return my PS and MMO and look for some of that instead....

I have a little web site I sell it on. Read the study and felt strongly about how well it performed. Sent you a PM.

DZ you might as well add some reg 15w40 oil back to the motor. CJ-4 does not lube as well. They only put that stuff in there for the DPF to last longer. But Im sure you have read this already somewhere else.

DL that cost for injectors is awful!! I know place that can do them MUCH cheaper.

Thanks but I am not going to change unless I loose one. This is what the average joe will be paying. Imagine, $12,000 for just injectors. You can buy a whole 5.9 for that much.
And I have a great connection through cummins so I will not need to pay big bucks, ever.
I am planning on doing the Torque converter first then Duel CP3s to see if I can improve fuel economy by increasing atomization first. Then air flow. Then I will start BOMBing it. Already dynos 385 to the rear wheels when juice it turned up to 5. This truck could easily get me in trouble.

Yes to the both of you..I wish the Bullet had the 5.9 in it...When it gets cold I will start adding the PS if the DPF plugs it might accidentally fall of while hitting a bump I hate how the thing hangs down below the frame anyway..
